Deep Tissue Massage
Is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. This type of massage focuses on the deeper muscles located below the superficial muscles. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity (such as athletes), and patients who have sustained physical injury. It is normal for receivers of deep tissue massage to have their pain replaced with a new muscle ache or soreness for a day or two after the massage. Deep tissue is used often in treatment work.
Sports Conditioning Massage
This massage treats specific sports injuries. It is focused deep tissue work that utilizes stretches to increase flexibility, lymphatic drainage to decrease swelling and other techniques to break up adhesions in between events, or promote healing after an event. This massage is used for maintaining peak athletic performance in your particular sport and can be beneficial both pre and post event.
Full Body Relaxation Massage
For when you just need to relax, this is the most recognized style of massage and is used on the occasion when you don’t really want any specific deep work to be done. This is good to do periodically in between treatment massages and is a great massage for those simply wanting to relax and restore.
